Write Times 2

Write Times 2 is our brand new collection of the best creative writing by young people who have completed our English qualifications at National, Higher, and Advanced Higher level, and Higher National qualifications in Creative Industries over the past year.

With 2018 being Scotland’s Year of Young People, what better way to celebrate the contributions they make, and applaud their creativity.

Write Times 2 allows us to provide a platform to showcase and champion the ability, imagination and talent of candidates from across the country who have demonstrated wit, insight, compassion, and understanding in a selection of poetry, prose, non-fiction, and drama, specially selected for inclusion in this new edition.

Now, more than ever, it is important for young people to be able to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas with confidence. It is heartening to see the young writers in Write Times 2 engaging with the issues facing us, and giving their views with such thoughtfulness, intelligence and sensitivity.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon

We are also very fortunate to have endorsements from Jackie Kay, Scotland’s Makar; as well as contributions from journalist turned author Anna Smith, Andy Arnold, artistic director of the Tron Theatre in Glasgow, and broadcaster Kaye Adams. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, and John Swinney Deputy First Minister, and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, have also leant their support to the project and congratulated the candidates for their contributions.
