HNC/HND Electronics
The HNC in Electronics will enable candidates to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of core electrical, analogue electronics and digital electronics principles and technologies and to apply a structured approach to high level language or assembly language programming with reference to applications within a microprocessor/embedded system.
The HND in Electronics will enable candidates to further develop candidates’ knowledge and skills in planning and project management and investigation skills. It will allow the candidate to gain an understanding of the external and internal factors that influence the performance of modern companies.

Candidate Information
The HNC in Electronics will enable candidates to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of core electrical, analogue electronics and digital electronics principles and technologies and to apply a structured approach to high level language or assembly language programming with reference to applications within a microprocessor/embedded system. It will allow a degree of specialisation within the following areas: electronic and electrical principles, electronic construction and testing skills, printed circuit board design, manufacture and test, Programmable Logic Controllers, implementation of local area networks, further mathematical studies, information technology applications or employment experience. It will allow the candidate to gain an understanding of the external and internal factors that influence the performance of modern companies and expand on the range of knowledge, understanding and skills of core electrical, analogue electronics and digital electronics principles and technologies included within the HNC.
