SQA Academy
SQAs Academy team support and create the contents of the SQAs virtual learning environment. The SQA Academy aims to provide quality training and development courses to:
-
enhance professional practice amongst teachers / lecturers and educational consultants working for the SQA in the development and assessment of SQA qualifications
-
support SQAs strategic objectives, organisational development process and the business change programme
-
support individual career development, helping staff members realise their fullest potential
-
support attainment by school and college students studying key SQA qualifications
Although there are many courses available to the public, some SQA Academy courses are only available to SQA Appointees. One of these is the online Electronic Marks Capture training package, which was set up as part of the Appointees Online system. Other SQA Academy courses link to the General Teaching Councils Professional Recognition framework and are only accessible by authorised individuals.
SQA Academy and Scotland's Colleges have also come together and created a unique suite of staff development opportunities using a blended learning approach (online combined with class-based activities). SQA Academy hosts the online learning part of these courses.
If you want access to a course that is secure, you need to contact the relevant qualification area within the SQA. They will issue you with an enrolment key as appropriate.
