Employability and Enterprise
Employability skills are a set of achievements, understandings and personal attributes that make individuals more likely to gain employment by developing a positive attitude to work and be successful in their chosen occupations. Employability includes areas such as effective time management, planning and organising, the ability to work with others to achieve a common goal, and to manage and be managed by others.
Enterprise skills develop individuals for the world of employment in all its diversity. This involves having the ability to be creative, flexible and resourceful with a positive attitude to change; understanding when and how to use initiative and innovation; being able to evaluate risk to inform individual and collective decision making; and having the ability to persuade others to undertake a joint venture.
Here are a few suggestions of some of the qualifications that have been identified as focusing directly on these skills.
