Citizenship and Sustainable Development
Citizenship includes having concern for the environment and for others; being aware of rights and responsibilities; being aware of the democratic society; being outward-looking towards society; being able to recognise one's personal role in this context; and being aware of global issues and understanding one's responsibilities within these, and of acting responsibly.
Sustainable Development is about recognising our environment and actively working to improve it both locally and globally. It seeks to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Here are a few suggestions of some of the qualifications that have been identified as focusing directly on these skills.
