SQA celebrates digital technology in education

SQA and Front Page staff at The Herald Digital Business Awards, with event host David Farrell

The innovative use of digital technology in Scottish organisations was celebrated at The Herald Digital Business Awards.

SQA was proud to sponsor the Education and Training Award. The event was a fantastic opportunity for the achievements of our finalists to be recognised.

Finalists Front Page, Innovation Digital, Nucleus Financial and the Scottish Social Services Council each developed an e-learning platform, and impressed the judges with the positive impact these had on the organisations.

The winner of the Education and Training Award was Front Page. The advertising agency work with some of the world’s biggest brands to create exciting, innovative campaigns. The team, based in Glasgow’s Templeton on the Green, include experts in print, digital and e-learning design.

The agency’s e-learning expertise was showcased to the judges through their work with Walt Disney World. They re-wrote and enhanced the Disney Stars training course, and created a new programme for Disney Cruise Line.  This involved a move from a desktop-first to a mobile-first experience, and resulted in a 58% increase of unique users, year on year.

Martyn Ware, Head of Assessment Futures at SQA said: "Tonight has been truly inspirational, hearing about the creative and inventive ways in which businesses in Scotland are using digital technologies to help meet and shape customer needs.”

“SQA is proud to sponsor the Education and Training Award, which has been a showcase of how education and training too is being transformed, through the imaginative use of these technologies. On behalf of SQA I'd like to congratulate all the finalists and in particular the category winner, Front Page, on their achievements."

Well done to all the finalists, particularly our winners Front Page. Read more about their work with Walt Disney World.
