Develop your digital skills this Get Online Week

It’s Get Online Week and this year organisers are calling on you to ‘Try 1 Thing’ to improve your digital skills.

If you are a digital novice, then SQA’s range of Digital Learning Guides are a great place to start. They make navigating some of the most common online tasks a straightforward experience.

From applying for a job to setting up a social media account, step-by-step instructions will guide you through the process. What’s more, you can work through the guides at your own pace using the 'Play' and 'Pause' buttons.

A digital badge, which you achieve on completing a selection of Digital Learning Guides, allows you to demonstrate your new digital skills. Displaying your badge – perhaps on your new social media profile - may help with future career and education opportunities.

If the Digital Learning Guides inspire you to further expand your digital skills, then have a look at SQA’s wide range of computing qualifications.

Hilary Weir, SQA Qualifications Manager, says: “Our Digital Learning Guides are a great place to begin your online learning journey and digital badges allow you to show your progress. Get Online Week is a brilliant opportunity to highlight simple ways in which everyone can access new digital skills.”

In this case study, find out how Robert used the Digital Learning Guides to help him in his job.

Get Online Week runs from 15-21 October and will see thousands of events take place across the UK, giving everyone the chance to ‘Try 1 Thing.’
