SQA helped recognise best practice in the use of technology in assessment, at the International e-Assessment Awards.

The awards celebrate the positive contribution that technology makes to assessment. They are an opportunity for organisations of all types to share where advances are making a difference, and to help each other overcome barriers.

SQA attended as sponsors of the Best Use of Summative Assessment category. Each of the category finalists have developed an assessment solution which has had a positive impact on students.

The category finalists were: Eindhoven University of Technology / Cirrus Assessmen; Highfield Qualifications; Qpercom with Qpercom Observe and; TestWe.

Qpercom with Qpercom Observe were announced as winners at the awards ceremony. Qpercom provide bespoke assessment solutions to universities including Dundee University, Karolinska Institute and the National University of Singapore.

Graeme Clark, Head of Digital Assessment Services at SQA, presented the award to Qpercom. He said: “SQA is proud to again sponsor the Best Use of Summative Assessment award at the e-Assessment Awards 2019. Through the ambitious and bold use of digital technologies in the delivery of assessment there continues to be significant opportunity to transform the experience of learners, providers and awarding bodies.”

“There is still much to be done, but we believe that through these awards and the wider work of the e-Assessment Association and its members, that transformation has made a great start.”

“Qualifications and more importantly the learning and assessment taking place through the delivery of those qualifications, have always inspired people. SQA believes that ongoing innovation in all aspects of qualification and assessment design are essential to realise benefits in a constantly changing learning and working environment, while continuing to deliver positive learning experiences for all in the 21st century and beyond.”

“Congratulations to Qpercom on this fantastic achievement!”
