SQA supports Royal National Mòd 2019
Last week saw the Royal National Mòd come to Glasgow. The main venue was the impressive Royal Concert Hall, and SQA was there to support An Latha Litreachais (Literature Day) prizegiving ceremony. After presenting prizes to the winners, we hosted a stand to show our provision for Gaelic, Scots and British Sign Language (BSL).
Robert Quinn, Head of English, Languages, and Business at SQA, said ‘We are delighted and privileged to be able to support An Latha Litreachais and I want to congratulate all the winners on their achievements.
‘2019 is, of course, the International Year of Indigenous Languages, and the Royal National Mòd gives us the perfect platform to show and celebrate all aspects of Gaelic culture. We are committed to the growth of Gaelic, and we are determined to promote the acquisition and learning of the language, and encourage the increased use of Gaelic where possible.’
