Alan Deans, Inverclyde Council, with award
Alan Deans (r), Inverclyde Council, Renfrewshire

Alan has been instrumental in delivering a variety of lifelong learning opportunities across the local authority using SQA awards in a range of subjects and levels.

He has helped to develop Inverclyde's SQA centre by encouraging it to adopt more SQA awards, such as the Personal Achievement Awards, which suit a whole host of client groups and staff. Alan was also integral in the roll-out of the Financial Awareness Awards as part of his work in the iDEAS financial inclusion project in Inverclyde. Alan's targeting of identified needs means that more people with barriers to learning are obtaining access to accredited courses.
