Cyber Scotland Week 2021

This week is Cyber Scotland Week 2021 and we'd like to take the opportunity to highlight some important information. Email scams are widespread and pose an ongoing threat to every organisation. These emails pretend to come from trusted sources and usually try to trick you into taking actions, such as clicking on links and revealing confidential information. Successful access enables those behind the scam to access information or cause severe disruption to an organisation. The consequences of such action can be far reaching, resulting in data leaks, financial loss, and reputational damage.

SQA takes its responsibilities for information security very seriously. We want to let you know that we will never contact you or your colleagues and ask for your SQA passwords or confidential information. Passwords should not be disclosed to anyone, not even IT staff. If you are in doubt about any communication you receive from SQA, please email information.governance@sqa.org.uk before acting on any instructions.
