NextGen: HNC Engineering (with Engineering Systems options)

The purpose of the qualification

To equip learners with the technical knowledge and skills, as well as the professional skills and personal behaviours (meta-skills) expected by employers in the Scottish engineering and advanced manufacturing sector.

Sector/industry-specific skills

We have based the knowledge, skills, personal qualities and professional skills that a successful learner will gain on the T-shaped technologist model (NEF: The Innovation Institute, 2012).

To create the T-shaped technologist, the curriculum framework should integrate the three core strands of the model.
