New NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision
CITB SSC and the OWS National Working Group have revised the existing Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction) (GR0H 79) to remove the endorsement requirements from the qualification.
SQA has reaccredited the new Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction) (GT27 79), which replaces the existing qualification. The new NVQ is now available to deliver and is open for candidate registrations.
What is different about the new NVQ
All endorsement units have been removed from the qualification and replaced by an existing unit which has been added to the structure – Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace (FX6T 79).
Due to an updated NOS version, the unit Co-ordinating and organising work operations in the workplace has been given a new code: J5RM 79.
What this means for centres
You are no longer required to provide side letters or endorsements for candidates who are registered for the new NVQ (GT27 79).
What this means for candidates
CSCS no longer require proof of endorsements to issue candidates with their CSCS card.
Entry requirements
For the latest guidance on entry requirements, for candidates looking to register on the new qualification, please refer to the following statement published by CITB:
You must ensure you have evidence that candidates meet these requirements prior to registering them on this qualification.
Lapsing and finish dates for the existing NVQ
The existing Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (GR0H 79) will enter its lapsing period on 31 December 2021. From this date, all new candidates must be entered for the new Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (GT27 79).
Candidates who are already entered for the existing NVQ will have until the finish date on 31 December 2025 to complete the qualification and have their results submitted to SQA. Candidates who are registered for the existing NVQ can move to the new one, unless they have already achieved any of the endorsement units which have been removed from the new NVQ.
