Customised Awards

Qualifications like HNDs, SVQs, and Professional Development Awards are designed to meet the needs of the majority of employing organisations.

However, there will always be some organisations for whom a different approach is more appropriate. It is for these organisations that the SQA offers an alternative kind of vocational qualification, called Customised Awards.

Our Customised Awards service is used by a wide range of employers and training organisations, and provides a variety of different kinds of help. This ranges from an advisory service to full-scale award development, offering tailor-made training and qualifications packages for individual organisations.

Customised Awards Handbook

A Customised Award is a vocational qualification which has been tailored to meet the skills needs of an individual company. The awards can be developed in any occupational area and at any level - from the most junior to the most senior.

SQA staff will work with your company's own specialists to develop an award which matches your company's requirements and meets SQA's standards. Employees achieving a Customised Award will get a vocational certificate which, by virtue of SQA's standing and reputation, will be recognised internationally.
