International update

Last year, we announced that we were changing our regulatory framework to allow international delivery and assessment of SQA Accredited qualifications. We stated that this applied only to satellite sites of UK providers of an SQA accredited approved awarding body.

To further clarify the position, we have defined a satellite site as “a temporary or permanent location, remote from an approved Provider’s main UK site, that remains subject to the Provider’s authority in respect of complying with awarding body guidance on delivery, assessment, and quality assurance.”

Additionally, we would like to confirm that all awarding bodies will be, by default, noted as opted out. The option to opt-in will require you to have an initial discussion with your Regulation Manager, to confirm arrangements for opting in.
