Scottish Apprenticeship Week
It’s Scottish Apprenticeship Week, and we're celebrating the benefits that apprenticeships bring to young people and employers across Scotland.
Celebrating Scotland’s Apprentices
Modern apprenticeships give young people the opportunity to gain experience and valuable skills in the workplace and develop their knowledge while earning valuable SQA qualifications, while getting paid.
SQA qualifications, specifically Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs), are an integral part of most modern apprenticeships, meeting the required National Occupational Standards outlined by a host of industries.
We spoke to Kirsten and Cassidy, two modern apprentices undertaking the Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship at Bell Group, a property services contractor with branches across the UK, to find out more:

Modern Apprenticeships at SQA
We're also helping young people take their first steps into the world of work by recruiting modern apprentices in several roles across our Edinburgh and Glasgow sites.
As part of our commitment to developing the young workforce, we're currently recruiting for 12 modern apprentices in a variety of business areas, including Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, Service Delivery, and Strategic Planning and Governance.
Here are former SQA Modern Apprentices telling us about their apprenticeship experience and how they benefitted from the programme:
You can hear more from our former apprentices and find out more about the opportunities available at our Modern Apprenticeships at SQA webpage.
