Provider monitoring visits for SQA accredited qualifications
Centres offering SQA accredited qualifications are subject to provider monitoring visits by SQA Accreditation, the regulator for SVQs. These visits ensure that centres are meeting regulatory requirements. Following recent visits, two key requirements were not met at a number of centres.
Quality assurance criteria you must demonstrate includes:
- documented evidence of how internal verification processes are tracked and monitored. These processes ensure effective standardisation of assessment. (QA criteria 4.2)
- a policy or procedure detailing your process for Accreditation of Prior Learning. All centres should have documented evidence of how their candidates’ development needs and prior achievements, where appropriate, are matched against the requirements of the award. (QA criteria 3.2)
Read our Qualification Verification Criteria document for a full list of requirements.
SQA systems and qualification verifiers may also ask to see this evidence during their visits.
Information on systems verification, qualification verification and our quality assurance criteria can be found at www.sqa.org.uk/qualityassurance.
