HNVQ - enhanced quality assurance arrangements
In HNVQ quality assurance, some of our qualifications are subject to enhanced quality assurance arrangements, which comprise of two distinct quality assurance components:
- Indirect claim status: centres coming forward for approval for these qualifications must have undergone a successful quality assurance activity before we can certificate candidates.
- Unannounced activity: centres delivering these qualifications must notify us of live assessments taking place using the notification forms on our enhanced quality assurance arrangements web page (under ‘Unannounced activity’).
We recently added the following new awards to the list of qualifications that our enhanced quality assurance arrangements apply to (alongside the existing awards – Taxi (Ofqual) and Street Works):
- First Aid at Work
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Paediatric First Aid
- Emergency Paediatric First Aid
- Health and Safety in the Construction Environment
- Taxi qualifications (Scotland)
We’ve notified all affected centres directly and have provided guidance on how these arrangements work.
We’ve also updated the relevant subject pages with information on the enhanced quality assurance arrangements and links to our quality assurance pages for further guidance.
If you have any questions, or need any support with these new quality assurance arrangements, please email qav@sqa.org.uk.
