NextGen: HN news

Engagement round-up

SQA is now a full member of the Joint Articulation Group, which we feel can be an effective partner for us in shaping and developing effective articulation and progression.

At the latest meeting in late March, we delivered an in-depth presentation on NextGen: HN, followed by a positive discussion on a variety of topics including tracking student attainment and engagement with the Scottish Widening Access Management Group.

Other topics covered included:

Definition of articulation

We agreed that a universal understanding of this would benefit all parties and will be pleased to take part in the group which has been set up to explore this.

Pilot centre information

We clarified that a list of centres currently delivering NextGen: HN qualifications is available on our website.

New qualification developments

We confirmed our commitment to ensure HEI participation is a key feature of the NextGen: HN qualification development process. This will help us consider and build in articulation and progression opportunities throughout the design process.

We are always happy to receive recommendations for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to support the work on new developments.

Regional Learner Passport Partnership

We also presented at the recent meeting of the Regional Learner Passport Partnership group, where we updated on NextGen: HN and the current position regarding articulation and progression.
