NextGen: HN Television validation success
Our NextGen: HNC and HND Television awards have been successfully validated, marking a significant milestone in the NextGen: HN journey.
On Monday 29 April we hosted a validation panel with representation from Higher Education, industry, and our education specialists, and was chaired by Fi Milligan-Rennie of Creative Scotland. The meeting was very positive and panel members unanimously agreed that the new awards satisfied the validation criteria.
NextGen: HN has taken an updated approach to validation. We will learn from experience as we use this model for the NextGen: HN subjects waiting for validation throughout session 2024 - 2025.
Television has been at the forefront of the NextGen: HN project: in session 2020 - 2021, they were the only subject to pilot, supporting our service-led design model by forging ahead to test our NextGen: HN design principles. Television is now also the first subject to move out of pilot and into a delivery phase for session 2024 - 2025. However, we continue to support emerging practice by facilitating collaborative peer support, sharing good practice from former pilot centres with all Television delivery centres.
These achievements have only been possible due to the exceptional collaboration across everyone involved. We would like to extend our particular thanks to Qualification Manager Gail English and colleagues from policy, alongside our delivery and quality team colleagues at Edinburgh College, New College Lanarkshire and NESCOL.
We are looking forward to holding a launch event hosted by City of Glasgow College in August to celebrate these achievements.
