Secure storage and handling of exam materials - visits to centres
During the exam diet, our quality enhancement managers will conduct a number of unannounced visits to centres to check on the implementation of procedures for secure storage and handling of exam materials by chief invigilators.
These visits will take place on days when exams are running in your centre. This will allow the quality enhancement managers to speak directly to your chief invigilator, to ensure that everything is running smoothly and that the security of exam materials is maintained.
On arrival at centres, our staff will report to reception and ask your colleagues to advise you of the visit as a courtesy. You don’t need to prepare anything for a visit and there’s no need for you to meet with the quality enhancement manager, unless there are any difficulties with locating the chief invigilator.
Please advise senior staff in your centre that these unannounced visits may happen on exam days. We appreciate that this will be a busy and stressful time, however visits usually only take about 20 minutes, and we will aim to minimise disruption to the chief invigilator and staff.
