National 5 Geography
This Course is valid from August 2013.
The National 5 Geography Course develops a range of geographical skills and techniques. Learners gain a detailed understanding of the ways in which people and the environment interact in response to physical and human processes at local, national, international and global scales.
Updates and announcements
Understanding Standards packs for Unit assessment are available from our secure website and teachers and lecturers can arrange access to them through their SQA Co-ordinator. Further materials for National 5 Course assessment will be published from December 2014.
In addition to the above mentioned packs, we are running a programme of subject-specific Understanding Standards events from November 2014 to February 2015. Workshop materials and presentations for subject specialists will be published following each event.
National 5 Geography Specimen Question Paper
An extract of the Ordnance Survey Landranger map of the Dingwall area is now available to accompany the Specimen Question Paper.
Course Assessment Specifications, Assessment Tasks and assignments updates
Some Geography Course Assessment Specifications, Assessment Tasks and assignments have been updated in August 2014.
The intention of these updates is to provide teachers and lecturers with further information and clarification based on feedback we have received. The amendments are minor, and intended to provide clarification. All amendments and additional content have been carefully managed to minimise disruption.
