We’ve updated the following Art and Design documents:
- National 4 Art and Design added value unit specification
- Higher Art and Design course specification
National 4 Art and Design added value unit specification
We’ve updated the added value unit specification to confirm the assessment standard thresholds for this unit, detailing that 7 out of 10 assessment standards must be achieved.
There is still a requirement for candidates to be given the opportunity to meet all assessment standards. We’ve put the above threshold in place to reduce the volume of re-assessment.

Higher Art and Design course specification
We’ve updated the course specification to include guidance on how to structure responses to the question paper. You’ll find this guidance in the course support notes.

It’s normal practice for us to review course materials after the marking of exams and coursework is complete.
During marking, our exam teams sometimes identify minor corrections, or areas of the published marking instructions and instructions for candidates that could be made clearer.
