SQA is committed to working in partnership with colleges and will continue to work with you to develop and maintain qualifications that meet the needs of Scotland’s learners, communities and economy.
We have developed a guide to SQA processes that are affected by regionalisation. You will also be able to rely on our programme of continuing professional development for practitioners for support and information.

Communication and Support
We feel it is important to offer focused and dedicated support, so we have established regional teams to help you with all your SQA queries. I hope you will make full use of this resource as, together, we take on the opportunities and challenges presented by the new post-16 landscape.
Resources for Colleges
SQA's MyAlerts service lets you know when content is added or updated on the SQA website. You can select the areas you are interested in and registering only takes a few moments — you can choose whether to receive updates monthly or quarterly and you can revise the areas you're subscribed to at any time.
Our Regional Support Team are available to offer support and advice to colleges.
SQA have created an interactive tool called MySector which lets you browse available SQA qualifications by qualification level (SCQF and QCF), for a number of sectors.
SQA Academy and Scotland's Colleges together have also created a unique suite of staff development opportunities using a blended learning approach. SQA Academy hosts the online learning part of these courses.
SOLAR is an online assessment tool based on banks of quality-assured questions, covering qualifications from SCQF level 2 - 8. The summative e-assessments are pre-verified — so centres know that quality is assured and scores achieved are correct. No post-delivery verification of assessments is required. This provides real benefits for both learners and learning providers.
Development visits can be requested by prospective and existing centres which require guidance and support, either for a qualification they haven’t delivered before, for new staff, or general guidance in the delivery of a qualification. These visits are solely intended to provide advice and support to centres on the delivery of internally assessed units/courses.
