NPA Dance - changes to approval for centres

We’ve updated the group award specifications for NPA Dance courses at SCQF levels 4 and 5. These are available on the relevant subject pages (under ‘Qualification structure’).

From May 2024, any new centres planning to deliver NPA Dance courses at SCQF levels 4 and 5 will need to apply for approval from SQA. Auto-approval has been removed from these qualifications.

Please check if you have approval prior to delivery of this qualification. If you’re unsure as to whether you have approval or not, speak to your regional manager. We’ll work with you to identify what support your centre needs to deliver the qualifications.

If your centre is already delivering these qualifications or the mandatory units (Dance: Choreography H2W5 10, Dance: Choreography FH5T 11) as part of another award (ie Creative Industries SCQF 5 and 6), you'll receive an Assessment Strategy Declaration form. You must return this form indicating that your centre meets the requirements for assessors and internal verifiers.
