The HN awards Hospitality and Professional Cookery provide recognised qualifications that are understood and respected by employers in all areas of the hospitality industry. They will provide a sound educational and experiential background demanded by certain employers.
These qualifications contain both theoretical and practical Units. The theoretical Units will underpin the knowledge required to gain employment in this sector, as well as allowing progression to further academic and/or professional qualifications.
The HNC/D frameworks in Hospitality and Professional Cookery are currently under review. This process builds upon the incremental change to units and frameworks initiated as a result of annual survey questionnaires and events.
A number of key issues have arisen over the course of the review and we would like to consult centres about these via a short survey. This survey is particularly targeted at course/curriculum leaders who have an overview of the delivery of the whole awards. We would greatly appreciate your views. The closing date is Monday 28 February 2011
Responses from this survey will help to inform any revision of the HN awards in Hospitality and Professional Cookery.
The current framework for the HNC/HND awards in Hospitality and Professional Cookery was introduced in 2005. As HN qualifications no longer have a fixed lifespan they will be reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that they are kept up to date. We would like to get some feedback from tutors and candidates who have been involved in these qualifications.
We have created separate surveys for centres and candidates and we would be very grateful if you could spend the next few minutes completing the short questionnaire which is relevant to you, this will help us to review and evaluate the awards.
The responses from these surveys will help to inform the focus for future HN Hospitality and Professional Cookery developments.
