Support Materials
SQA is currently developing E-Learning Packs for the three Units that appear in each of the three PDAs for Paralegals: Legal and Ethical Issues; Legal Research Techniques and Legal Secretarial Practice. These Packs will focus on the knowledge Paralegals would be required to have to be achieve the Units. These packs should be available for spring/early summer 2010.
News
SQA has a joint awarding agreement with the Scottish Paralegal Association for the HNC/D Legal Services and the PDAs for Paralegals. Together, we have been developing qualifications for Scotland's Paralegals. In addition to those awards currently available, we are now developing further PDAs for Paralegals that will increase our provision and ensure that Paralegals have qualifications that are fit for purpose and reflect good practice in a variety of specialisms.
The Law Society of Scotland is nearing completion of standards for Paralegals in advance of the launch of the Registered Paralegal Scheme on Monday 16 August 2010. For further information on the Registered Paralegal Scheme, please follow this link to the Law Society of Scotland's website:
