Our learner survey is open until Friday 4 October. If you asked your school to download a marked exam paper for you, please give us your feedback. This will help us make decisions about our approach in the future.
This year we're running a trial for schools and colleges to download copies of marked exam papers in five subjects.
What subjects
- Geography - National 5 and Higher
- Graphic Communication - National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher
- Media - National 5
- Music - National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher
- Statistics - Advanced Higher
These subjects were chosen to give a variety of subject areas, marking instructions, and entry numbers for the trial.

How can I get a copy of my marked exam paper
The SQA co-ordinator at your school or college will be able to download your marked exam paper for you.
How can I use my exam paper
You can use your marked exam paper to inform your appeals decision.
Your teacher can also use it to tailor future teaching plans and refine their teaching approach.
For example, your marked exam paper can help your teacher identify areas or topics that need to be taught in more depth in the future.
I don't understand the notes and symbols on my exam paper
Our markers use symbols during the marking process. Your school will share the marking instructions with you, and these will provide a guide to the symbols, but how they are used will depend on the subject.
Does my school or college need my permission to access my marked exam paper?
Yes, you need to give written permission to your school or college to access your marked exam paper for you.
Can I withdraw my permission?
Yes. You will need to tell your school and they will dispose of all copies of your marked exam paper in line with their privacy policy
Is Cruinn-eòlas (Geography) included in the trial?
No. The trial only includes the English language version of Geography
