National Progression Award Oral Health Care: an Introduction SCQF level 5

National Progression Awards (NPAs) assess a defined set of skills and knowledge in specialist vocational areas, linked to National Occupational Standards. The NPA in Oral Health Care: an Introduction at SCQF level 5 provides an introduction to the underpinning knowledge, understanding, and skills that are required for accessing further training to become a registered dental nurse.

This NPA introduces the learner to health and safety risk assessment, infection prevention and control, and basic dental anatomy. Their practical and transferable skills will be developed, such as their oral, written, and evaluation abilities, as well as problem solving and planning, team working, and communication skills.

The qualification is available through colleges and training providers.
