NPA Thoroughbred Preparation at SCQF level 5

NPA Thoroughbred Preparation at SCQF level 5

This National Progression Award (NPA):

  • introduces learners to techniques that are important in the equine sector
  • provides an overview of the horseracing industry with a focus on working with thoroughbred horses

It develops practical, technical and transferable skills such as safe handling of thoroughbred horses and preparing horses for ridden work, and provides bite-sized chunks of learning that are straightforward for centres to adopt and for learners to study.

This qualification is available through colleges and training providers.

NPAs can be taught as a full-time course over one year or as a part-time course over two years.

Why study this qualification
