As part of our 2023-24 Understanding Standards programme, we are holding a webinar and an event for teachers and lecturers of Higher Psychology on the following dates:
Webinar
- 25 January from 5pm – 6pm
This webinar will focus on the national standards required for the Higher Psychology question paper.
Event
- 26 January in Dalketih, from 9.30 am – 3.30 pm
This event will focus on the Higher Psychology question paper. Attendees will have the opportunity to review and discuss examples of candidate evidence during workshop activities.

Centres need to apply for approval before delivering the qualification for the first time, and must consider the resources that are available to them to do this.
To deliver this qualification in the next academic session, and in order for candidates to be certificated in August the following year, centres must apply for approval by the end of September of the previous year (for example, the deadline for applications for approval must be submitted by September 2022 in order to deliver and certificate the qualification by August 2023).
Subject-specific information:
Centres must demonstrate that teachers and lecturers delivering/assessing Psychology have completed at least two years successful study of Psychology at University or Higher National Diploma (HND) level (minimum SCQF level 8), including the study of research methods.
