Team Leader Visiting Verification

A Team Leader - Visiting Verification is responsible for supporting the Principal Verifier in maintaining national standards for the qualifications within their remit. They will ensure that all tasks associated with the quality assurance of internally assessed units and course assessments are carried out within the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by Qualification Scotland.

The primary role is to support and quality assure the work of their team members, in the delivery of external quality assurance for qualifications in the subject area(s) concerned, to ensure that national standards are being consistently applied and maintained.

These activities will be under the direction of the Principal Verifier and staff from our Operations and Qualifications Development directorates.

Key Performance Measures - Team Leaders - Visiting Verification

Each year, on completion of the duties outlined in the team leader- visiting verification contract specification, the following Key Performance Measures (KPMs) will be used to measure performance. Team Leaders will be informed of the performance outcome when KPMs have not been achieved.

  1. Complete training and standardisation programmes as required.
  2. Ensure quality assurance activity is carried out and completed within the conditions and timescales set by us.
  3. Support and monitor performance of visiting verifiers to meet our verification activity requirements.
  4. Ensure accuracy and consistency of decisions made by visiting verifiers.
  5. Ensure reports meet the required standard.
  6. Positive engagement with all members of the team through leadership of people.
  7. Positive engagement with all colleagues and centre personnel.
