The University of Queensland deems the Higher National Certificate/SQA Advanced Certificate under the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) as equivalent to a Diploma qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). This can be considered for credit into the first year of a Bachelor award in Australia.

The University of Queensland deems the Higher National Diploma/SQA Advanced Diploma under the SQA as equivalent to an Advanced Diploma qualification under the AQF. This qualification can be considered for credit into the first year of a Bachelor award in Australia, with the possibility of some credit towards the second year of the Bachelor.

For credit to be considered, the University of Queensland requires full detailed course outlines of all courses completed under the SQA qualification. For credit to be awarded, the previous studies need to be deemed comparable to the content of the courses in program applied for.

University of Southern Queensland

The SQA Advanced Diplomas in Financial Services, Business, Global Trade and Business, Business with Accounting and Hospitality Management all provide credit towards the Bachelor of Business (BBIZ).

SQA Advanced Diploma Business, Business with Accounting, Business with HRM, Business with Marketing and Computing: Networking will provide a minimum of between 30 transfer credits and 54 transfer credits to apply towards any programme at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. The number of transfer credits vary, depending on subject.

SQA Advanced Diploma Business, Business with Accounting, Business with HRM and Business with Marketing will provide a minimum of between 33 transfer credits and 51 transfer credits to apply towards BBA programmes at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
