Petroleum Driver Passport Industry Training Scheme
Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is appointed Agent to the UK Downstream Oil Distribution Forum to deliver the above training, assessment and certification scheme. The Petroleum Drive (PD) Passport scheme has been designed to set an industry training standard against which drivers delivering refined petroleum products in road tankers will need to demonstrate competence. The primary focus of the scheme is finished petroleum products, delivered to end customers. The training standard has been designed to meet the needs of all parts of the sector, including drivers, employers, training providers and associated stakeholders.

Applications are invited for the post of External Verifier for PD Passport for the 2022/23 session. Applicants will be expected to have sufficient, verifiable, relevant experience and knowledge and understanding of the sector.
Applications are invited from the following geographical locations: North of England and Wales.
Should an applicant require release from their employer, they should discuss this before making an application. An average of 30 days release is anticipated in the annual contract period, however, some flexibility will be considered. Additional time in applicants' own time may also be required to fulfil the duties of this post. Applicants must also be prepared to participate in additional training activities for their continuing professional development.
Fees and expenses are paid for work undertaken.
SQA require a reference for the successful applicant(s), which must be from your Head of Centre/employer or professional colleague if you are self-employed.
Contracts may be renewed annually and are based on performance of duties.
