Smarter Working
At SQA remote working has posed various challenges for all of us, but it has also provided us with an opportunity to rethink how we can work in the future. Through consultation with our staff we have introduced our Smarter Working Programme which aims to ‘Where possible, give our people some individual choice and control over where they work’ while ensuring business needs are met.
Every role at SQA has now been aligned to one of the following four workstyles:
Fixed place and fixed hours
Work will be carried out at a single location (site as per the advert) and the postholder will work fixed hours to support business needs.
The postholder will be allocated a permanent workstation with a laptop or a desktop.
Fixed place and varied hours
Work will be carried out in at a single location (site as per the advert). Working hours will be agreed with the line manager and working patterns must support business needs.
Office based roles will be allocated a permanent workstation with a laptop or a desktop. Designated home based roles will receive a home working package and a laptop.
Varied place and fixed hours
Postholders may request to work between home and the office(s), working fixed hours to support business needs. The split between office and home will be agreed with the line manager.
The percentage of time spent working in the office will determine if a permanent, bookable, or touchdown workstation is provided. Small items will be available on request to support working from home.
Varied place and varied hours
Postholders may request to work between home and the office(s) working varied hours. The split between office/home and working hours will be agreed with the line manager. Working patterns must support business needs.
The percentage of time spent working in the office will determine if a permanent, bookable, or touchdown workstation is provided. Small items will be available on request to support working from home.
The workstyle for each role will be displayed on our advert. If you are selected for interview you will have the opportunity to discuss your individual working preferences, where the role allows, with the recruiting manager.
