Our business environments

We are a non-departmental public body that reports to Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Parliament. It is sponsored by the Scottish Government’s Learning Directorate and employs 1,000 people.

Commercial activity

We deliver services for commercial clients. Services include:

• the implementation and oversight of all contract requirements and KPIs
• management and oversight of the IT/database technology platforms used to deliver these schemes
• the management of appointees to quality assure training providers
• management and oversight of syllabus, exams and/or question banks
• marking assessments, publishing results and printing cards/certificates
• ensuring the Manual of Practice remains contemporaneous

International work

We operate internationally to show the world what Scotland has to offer.

We demonstrate that working with us - and Scotland - is beneficial and positive for international partners and customers.

Developing strong relationships and opportunities that contribute to growth in Scotland.

Our international work generates an income which reduces our draw on the public purse.
