This policy explains how SQA meets the requirements of data protection law where we collect and use (process) special category and criminal offence data.
Special category data is personal information about someone’s:
- racial or ethnic origin
- political opinions
- religious or philosophical beliefs
- health
- sex life or sexual orientation
- trade union membership and
- genetic or biometric data (for example fingerprints).
Criminal offence data is any personal information about someone’s criminal convictions and/or offences.
