Information requested
I would be grateful if you could provide the following information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
The meeting minutes for the Qualifications Body Transition Board November meeting state that SQA carried out a ‘Qualifications Scotland Week’ with its staff.
At the transition board meeting the SQA’s Bill Cullen said feedback from staff during the week would be collated and shared in January.
I would like to receive a copy of the feedback from staff collated by SQA based on what was learnt during ‘Qualifications Scotland Week’, as well as any other learning from the week held by SQA (be that in form of emails, reports, papers etc).
Please also include in the response any information held that sets out what ‘Qualifications Scotland Week’ actually entailed.
The minutes from the transition board meeting also talk about “a wellbeing plan” having been developed for SQA staff. I would like to request a copy of the plan.
Response
As part of the wider Education Reform programme led by Scottish Government, SQA fully participates in all cross-body projects including an Organisational Design and Culture Thematic project. Through this programme it was agreed that SQA would design and pilot a piece of work to create the new values for Qualifications Scotland. Part of the work was to ensure that all staff were fully informed about the work happening to date within the programme and to ensure the right scene was set for all colleagues to participate in the work to create the new values, should they wish. As a result of this, Qualifications Scotland Week was created to provide relevant information and enable colleagues to ask questions of the people who have been heavily involved in the work.
Qualifications Scotland Week consisted of:
- Articles and blogs posted on the intranet through the week with a focus on different aspects of transition and transformation
- Launch of an updated intranet transition and transformation hub
- Events and Staff Information Programmes (similar to webinars) including:
- Transition plan and approach SIP
- Ask Shirley (question and answer session with our Chair, Shirley Rogers)
- Digital Awarding SIP
A short survey was carried out on some of the aspects, the results of which are attached.
We have also attached a copy of the Wellbeing Action Plan.
