Information requested

I am emailing to ask the following Freedom of Information questions about managing the practical issues around the SQA exam process. Specifically, I would like to ask the following:

1. For each of the last 10 years how many invigilators have been employed for SQA exams, if possible broken down by council area?

2. For each of the last 10 years how much has the council spent on invigilators for SQA exams?

Our understanding, due to information received from council responses, is that additional arrangement information is provided to the SQA by the schools/councils, therefore, I would also like to ask the following:

3. For each of the last 10 years how many pupils have required separate accommodation for sitting SQA exams, ?

4. For each of the last 10 years how many pupils have required separate individual accommodation for sitting SQA exams?

Response

The information relating to invigilator numbers is contained within the spreadsheet below. The invigilation spend for local authorities is zero as local authorities do not meet SQA’s invigilation costs.

Under section 25, where information is otherwise accessible, we must inform the requester.

Information relating to assessment arrangement can be found on our website using the following link:

Summary of Assessment Arrangements - SQA

The information for 2024, 2023 and 2022 are readily available. For the years prior to 2022, please use the information archive within the web page.

Under section 17 of the Act, when an authority does not hold information, it must inform the requester.

We do not hold information on separate individual accommodation requests.
