Information requested
I would like to request question-by-question marks given for SQA/QS exams for candidates at the Vale of Leven Academy in Social Subjects (History, Geography and Modern Studies) from 2018-Present, for both National 5 and Higher Levels. If it could be made clear the number of question corresponding to the question paper each year that would be ideal. For the Assignments I'd like the component marks for each section of the assignment for all candidates at Vale of Leven Academy in Social Subjects (History, Geography and Modern Studies) from 2018-Present, for both National 5 and Higher Levels.
I would also like the Item Mark Frequency Table information for the Assignment marks Nationally in Social Subjects (History, Geography and Modern Studies) from 2018-Present, for both National 5 and Higher Levels

Under section 17 of the Act, when a public authority does not hold information it should inform the applicant.
We are unable to provide information for question-by-question marks for 2018 to 2021 as we no longer hold the information.
The information for 2022 is contained within the attached spreadsheets, entitled FOI26-27 089 - Geography, FOI26-27 089 - History and FOI26-27 089 - Modern Studies.
Under section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, where information is otherwise accessible, an authority should inform the applicant of this and explain where the information can be accessed.
The data for 2023, 2024, and 2025 is available through a new application launched by our Data and Analytics team, the Attainment and Item Mean Marks by Centre app.
While our aim is to provide information wherever possible, the data requested for 2026 is exempt from disclosure under section 27(1) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, as it is intended to be published at a future date.
When applying the S27 exemption the authority is obliged to conduct a public interest test.
Having carefully considered the competing public interests, we have concluded that, on balance, the public interest is better served by maintaining the exemption under section 27(1) of FOISA. While we recognise the public interest in transparency and access to attainment statistics, this is outweighed by the public interest in ensuring that the information is published in a complete, accurate and accessible format, through the agreed publication arrangements, and is made available to all users at the same time.
Item-level data and provisional attainment data for 2026 will be available via the app by the end of September. Please note that the 2026 provisional attainment data will be updated by the end of January, following completion of the appeals process.

With regard to assignment marks, as above, we do not hold information from 2018-2021. We also hold no information for 2022 and 2023 as there were no assignments during those years.
