I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 for information relating specifically to the 2026 Advanced Higher Business Management Assignment across Scotland. I would like to request the following information: The most common topic/areas studied or selected by candidates for the 2026 Advanced Higher Business Management Assignment, including the number or percentage of candidates selecting each topic where this information is held. The topic/area that achieved the highest marks, including the average mark or other available measure of attainment. A breakdown, where available, showing: The Business Management topic/area studied; Number of candidates selecting the topic/area; Average mark achieved; Highest mark achieved. A breakdown of marks awarded for each section/element of the Advanced Higher Business Management Assignment, including the maximum marks available and the marks achieved. Where the assignment is assessed against specific assessment criteria, please provide the marks awarded against each criterion or assessment category. Please identify which topic/area of Business Management was most commonly studied and which topic/area produced the highest average marks.

The request is for Scotland as a whole for the 2026 assessment diet, rather than information relating to any individual school or centre. Where disclosure of small numbers could identify individual candidates, I would be grateful if the data could be appropriately aggregated or suppressed while providing as much of the requested information as possible. If the information is not held in precisely this format, please provide the closest equivalent information available. I would prefer the information in spreadsheet format, if possible

There is a new application launched by our Data and Analytics team, the Attainment and Item Mean Marks by Centre app which provides item level data and provisional attainment data.

The information for 2026 will be available by the end of September, whilst 2023, 2024 and 2025 data is available on the app.
